Using the grade calculator

This calculator has two modes. "What do I need on the final?" tells you the minimum score required on your final exam to achieve a desired overall grade. "What is my current grade?" lets you add all your assignments with their weights to compute your running total.

Understanding weighted grades is important. If your final is worth 20% of your grade, it has less impact than assignments worth 40%. This calculator handles weighted grading correctly so you know exactly where you stand.

Tips for final exams

If the calculator says you need a score above 100% to get your desired grade, your goal may be out of reach for this grading period — focus on doing your best. If it says you need below 0%, you have already secured your target grade. Use this information to prioritize your study time effectively across all your classes.
